Chromatic Alchemist is a 3D platformer all about speed. Use your power of color to return the life to shadow-stripped objects and climb your way out of the dank sewers!

Disclaimer:

  • Read the controls below otherwise you will get stuck quickly, as there is no tutorial.
  • There is something very wrong with Unity's build option for browser games. In the WebGL version of this game, there will be missing textures, missing shaders, missing sound effects and music. I spent a full day trying to debug this issue to no avail. So, all of these things not present in the WebGL build are present in the stand-alone windows version I have provided for download.
  • THE EXPERIENCE IS GOING TO FEEL INCREDIBLY BUGGY. I am primarily a 2D developer, and as such, I have always built custom physics systems for platforming out of necessity (Unity does not have general 2D controllers). I did the same for this experience, not knowing beforehand that 3D Unity has a well-built general 3D character controller. I plan to continue to update this experience in the future, and even make a full steam release out of it, but for now, you will more than likely suffer. (Have Fun! <3)

Really cool game! Would recommend to polish the experience by

  1. Making it so I can hold down the color shooting button
  2. Only shoot with left click
  3. Shoot fast enough to be able to speed through the level instead of meticulously spraying the color before each jump, it is counter intuitive to the fun movement you implemented!
  4. Rework wall jumping to feel more intuitive

Overall, great job! This is super cool!

I really appreciate the feedback! I definitely plan to refine everything, starting with the buggy physics. Eventually, I plan to work this into a full release after I complete the current experience I'm building.
Thank you very much for playing!

I really liked the idea and at times is really fluent. But the jumping feels inconsistent. I hope you keep working on this!

Totally agree, it's quite buggy. I definitely will keep refining it!
Thank you for playing!
